Wine Making Philosophy

Agricultural Methods

Extended Specs

Quick Chemistry lesson: During fermentation the yeast convert sugars into alcohol, CO2, and heat. åÊThe more sugar, the more alcohol. åÊThe riper the grape, the higher the alcohol.

Quick Earth Science lesson: The farther North you go, the colder it gets. åÊ

Quick Agriculture lesson: The colder it is, the tougher it is to get crops to ripen.

What have we learned class? åÊYes! åÊIn Northern growing regions, like the Loire Valley, most wines don't achieve high alcohol levels because the grapes aren't overly ripe.

So how did Mr. Tracey birth a wine of 14.5% abv? åÊNo idea. åÊBut it's freakin' delicious. åÊLike no other Sauvignon Blanc you will ever have.

Bottled unfined, unfiltered with the tiniest amount of SO2 only at bottling.

Shipping Info

Neighborhood delivery:

Daily deliveries are made within our local neighborhood, defined by Eastern Parkway, Lafayette Ave, 5th Ave, and Franklin Ave.

Greater Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan:

We make weekly hand deliveries outside of neighborhood, usually on Mondays and Tuesdays. These deliveries will incur a flat fee of $10 however consideration will be given to proximity and route. We don’t want to charge you additional fees on your wine unless we have to. If you need your wine sooner than the next scheduled delivery day please select FedEx Ground or call the shop during business hours to arrange alternative transportation.

Outside of NYC – Current Release Wines:

Our Current Release wines are stored at our Brooklyn store and storage facility and will be shipped via FedEx Ground. We have found FedEx Ground provides the best shipping conditions at the best price. If you prefer an alternative shipping provider please call the store during business hours or email us at We do not ship during warm months – typically late May to mid-September. If you wish to ship to another state, you assume all responsibility for shipment. As statutory laws are changing constantly, acceptance of an order is not a guarantee that we will ultimately be able to ship wine to you. We will notify you before processing your order if we are unable to ship wine to the state you request.

Library Wines

Most of our Library Wines are stored in temperature and humidity controlled professional facilities. These wines will be sent via temperature controlled vehicles and will incur the most competitive pricing we can find. If you purchase library wines you MUST select “Concierge Shipping” at checkout. A VWM representative will follow-up with you once we determine the price and the logistics partner for shipping your wines. Any questions regarding Library Wine shipment or Concierge Shipping please email us at or call the shop during regular business hours.
