Driven by soil first and foremost, Enfield Wine Co. seeks out vineyards that possess a distinct and powerful sense of place – across region, grape variety, and vine age. Working only with small vineyards and independent growers, every step of the process is guided by the intent to maximize this character of terroir. Grapes are harvested for balance and the wines are all given the chance to ferment naturally.
After surviving a summer job in high school hand-weeding grape vines at a winery in Vermont and studying as an apprentice to a Master Luthier (guitar builder) in Oakland, John got his start in the California wine industry in 2004 working up at Heron Lake vineyard with David Mahaffey. He went on to work harvests with Ted Lemon at Littorai, Bodega Melipal in Argentina, and Failla Wines with Ehren Jordan where he worked for 5 years farming and managing the Sonoma Coast and Russian River estate vineyards. He started Enfield Wine Co. in 2010 as small side-project while still working at Failla, and in 2013 took the plunge with Enfield as a full time project.
COVID Pickup Hours and Delivery Information
Pickup hours are from 3pm-7pm Monday-Saturday.
We are currently open for curbside pickup and delivery only. We're sorry we can't allow anyone into the store at the moment, so we ask that all orders be completed online before arriving.
We are still here to help you with your order, so don't hesitate to text us at (718) 398-1800 or email us at email@example.com with any questions.
Deliveries are made Tuesday - Saturday within our local neighborhood free of charge, defined by Eastern Parkway, Lafayette Ave, 5th Ave, and Franklin Ave.
Please order by 1pm to guarantee same-day delivery.
Greater Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan:
We make weekly hand deliveries outside of our neighborhood. These deliveries will incur a flat fee of $10. Once we receive your order we will reach out to coordinate the day and time. Orders are typically delivered within 1 week of purchase and usually sooner than that. If you need the wines earlier, or if you have any other special requests - please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to help you with whatever your needs are, no matter how specialized or unique! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the shop during business hours and we'll find something that works for you.
Outside of NYC:
Our wines are stored at our Brooklyn store and storage facility and will be shipped via common carrier. If you prefer a specific shipping provider please call the store during business hours or email us at email@example.com. We do not ship during warm months – typically late May to mid-September. If you wish to ship to a location outside of NY State, you assume all responsibility for shipment. We will notify you before processing your order if we are unable to ship wine to the state you request. We currently do not ship to the following states: AL, AR, DE, GA, IL, KY, MS, OK, PA, RI, TX, UT. As statutory laws are changing constantly, acceptance of an order is not a guarantee that we will ultimately be able to ship wine to you.
All orders greater than $400 are entitled to complimentary NYC delivery or common carrier Ground Shipping. Just select the Concierge Shipping option at checkout.
From time to time we purchase private collections and offer these wines to you at competitive and, we think, very attractive pricing. We only purchase cellars of top provenance bottles that have been stored in ideal conditions, and we only work with trusted acquaintances and collectors. If the wine you are considering does not display certain information, or if you would like certain images of the bottles please reach out using the form below.
